Margaretting Cricket Club run three senior sides - playing League cricket on Saturday in the T-Rippon Mid Essex League, a friendly side on Sunday and a midweek T20 team. Players range in age and ability and new members on both the playing and supporting front are always very welcome. The club has a long history which dates back to them being the first opponents of neighbours Chelmsford CC over 200 years ago and it boasts a base of players, supporters and committee members that have long been devoted to keeping the sides running successfully. On the pitch, Margaretting secured promotion and a T20 tournament trophy to finish off an excellent 2011 season and have developed and added to a strong, young squad in 2012. Should you wish to join us, or if you are a former member, please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you!
A great win that came on a very hot sunny day. Margaretting got off to a slow but steady start with in form skipper Rod Brazier making his second century in two games. Sharp bowling from Fred and Mike saw the visiters all out for 156.
A great game that see's the skipper make his season's highest score of 104, a beautiful partnership with Rohan (76) see's that Margaretting now go up to third in the division behind Havering and Writtle with 3 games to go.
After thunderous weather in the morning, Margaretting managed to post a hard fought 171 runs for 8 wickets. What then followed was a superb bowling performance from Lee Austin who got 6 wickets for 28 runs.
The ground itself is located next to the Margaretting Village Hall on Wantz Road. When entering Margaretting from the A414 or A12 Jnc. 15, Wantz road is the right hand turning at the crossroads, and then the ground is on the left as you drive up. There is parking located behind the village hall so there is no need to go elsewhere for parking. To see a map of the ground please see the google maps below.
